A bird side view of history
Every act of photography has a specific character. There are cases where the only way for the depiction of a monument, an area, an archaeological excavation, an indoor raster mosaic or even the interior of a cave require a different angle’s perspective. To achieve this goal, aerial means can be used. The photographic balloon of the past has been replaced by the contemporary UAV (known as photographic drone). The flying capabilities of a drone offer the photographer the opportunity to immortalize topics in angles which would otherwise be impossible to capture. The steady hovering over a topic at a height and angle that the photographer deems appropriate yields exceptionally beautiful results and offers an alternative view to topics that we are used to seeing through one only perspective, that of the human eye. Drone photography can be used either alone for the creation of air photographs or by various shooting of multiple photographs for the creation of a mosaic or panorama. Additionally, it can be used as a means to achieve other kinds of photographs, such as orthophotography and photogrammetry.
